MULTICRITERIA ANALYSIS IN PRODUCTION OF GEARS THROUGH ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING USING THE FITRADEOFF METHOD

Resumo
The growing demand for a sustainable and responsible approach to resource utilization has led industries to adapt to the current social and economic context. Additionally, the pursuit of greater competitiveness and operational cost reduction has driven the development of additive manufacturing, energy management, and energy efficiency. In this article, an application of the FITradeoff method in the material selection process for gear production using additive manufacturing was presented. Five different materials were considered: PLA, ABS, PETG, ASA, and NYLON, along with four selection criteria: material price, estimated total production cost per gear, gear weight, and mechanical tensile strength. Based on the opinion of an expert, the alternatives were ranked. The utilization of this method significantly contributed to the decision-making process, allowing for a more comprehensive and objective analysis of the different materials according to the established criteria.
