This article aims to make a survey of research carried out in the field of journalism that has veteran professionals as subjects of investigation. To this end, a survey was carried out in six national databases, with a time frame of 2020 and 2024, with the combination of keywords that identified this audience and others that located investigations related to the work of journalists and journalistic identity. This survey is one of the methodological procedures carried out by the author in the development of his master's research. From a universe of 45 publications, 15 made up the corpus dissected here. As the main finding, it is noted that veteran journalists, unlike young journalists, do not figure emphatically in journalism studies, which reinforces the need for new investigations on these subjects.
