The small area of the Brazilian press: A research proposal on the discourse of sports journalism

This article is part of a doctoral research project in journalism in which it is intended to develop a study that reflects on the contradictions of sports journalism, especially that which deals with football, as a minor area. The central question seeks to understand how the discourse of Brazilian sports journalists tensions contradictions in the field as a smaller, sui generis or non-journalistic area. The methodological direction considers the perspective that Brazilian sports journalists have of themselves and of the field, through a discourse analysis from a French perspective to be made after conducting in-depth interviews, so that they think about the contradictions of this small area of the Brazilian press. As a study to be built, it is expected to notice the conditions of realization and think about the strengths and weaknesses of the proposal.
