The essential oils from Cymbopogon citratus (Lemon grass) (Poaceae), Syzygium aromaticum (Clove) (Myrtaceae), and Baccharis dracunculifolia (Rosemary) (Asteraceae) leaves were obtained and evaluated their insecticidal effect in Spodoptera frugiperda. The essential oils “in natura” from C. citratus and S. aromaticum caused 100% larval mortality, thus they were selected for nanoformulation. Component concentrations of the essential oils from C. citratus and S. aromaticum were calculated from GC.
