Abstract

GC-MS analysis of essential oils from species of the Xylopia genus revealed predominance of compounds from the chemical class of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. The X. sericea oil was the most promising among the oils tested, proving to be toxic to P. xylostella larvae and did not show inhibition activity on the AChE enzyme.
