Abstract

This study aims to contribute to the research of the mangrove in Rio de Janeiro, through the evaluation of special metabolites of the leaves Rhizophora mangle specie collected in the Guaratiba State Biological Reserve and the investigation of antimicrobial activity of its extracts. The results of antimicrobial activity revealed that the studied mangrove specie from Rio de Janeiro represent a potential source as a bactericidal/bacteriostatic agent.
