The investigation of ethanolic extracts of pulps and peels from the Brazilian native fruit Unonopsis guatterioides (common name “envira-preta”) using HPLC-DAD-ESI revealed alkaloids and flavonoids as major constituents. The extracts exhibited low scavenging capacity by DPPH method and demonstrated activity in combination with ampicillin against drug resistant clinical strains of S. epidermidis and S. aureus through additive effects.
