Mapping the functional profile of SARS-Cov-2-specific T cells in response to anti-COVID-19 vaccination under normal and immunopathological conditions

The development of vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, targeting the production of antibodies directed against epitopes of the S protein of the virus, has been accelerated due to the 2020 pandemic. The correlation between specific antibody titers and the clinical outcome of the disease makes it possible to adequately assess the protection status of an individual. The production of these antibodies depends on cellular immunity, mainly Tfh cells, a cell specialized in promoting robust and efficient humoral immune response. The objective of this project is to map the phenotypic and functional profile of specific-SARS-Cov-2 T cells induced by current vaccines, identifying predictive markers of protection against COVID-19.
