Resumo

Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) has been the treatment of choice for patients with prostate cancer, with gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHr) agonists, such as leuprolide (LP), representing an important therapeutic strategy. Despite the higher survival benefit promoted by GnRHr agonists, the occurrence of cardiovascular events have been associated with ADT, but the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.
