The National Brain Week (SNC) is an initiative of the Brazilian Society for Neuroscience (SBNeC) that has taken place since 2012, as part of the Brain Awareness Week promoted annually and globally by the Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives. Every March, universities, colleges, schools, hospitals, research laboratories, government agencies and other organizations are encouraged to undertake a week-long collective effort to carry out fun activities and actions in their communities that highlight the wonders of the brain and the impact that brain science has on various spheres of life, including everyday life itself. In 2023, the SNC took place on March 13-19 and had as its theme chosen by the SBNeC `The Cultivation of Resilience`. In Belo Horizonte/MG, one of the great pioneers in holding the SNC is the Neuroscience Center (NNC) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). The `FAMINAS-BH Brain Week: cultivating resilience` was a joint effort by students and teachers from Faminas and members of the NNC, who supported the realization of the event, which traditionally takes place at UFMG`s facilities and for the first time happened at FAMINAS` campus.
