EFFECT OF FRONT-OF-PACK NUTRITION LABELING SYSTEMS ON THE EMOTIONAL REACTIVITY EVOKED BY ULTRA-PROCESSED FOODS

The consumption of ultra-processed foods is associated with weight gain, obesity, and noncommunicable diseases. Ultra-processed foods evoke strong positive emotional reactions that predispose to overeating. Among the public health defense strategies, front-of-pack labeling systems can potentially minimize the positive emotional appeal attached to these products.
