Abstract

Estácio, as an institution of higher education, has sought to implement and reinforce more and more internationalization initiatives. Its International Cooperation Office, with only five years of existence and its second participation in the FAUBAI conference, presents practices that it considers successful while seeking new ideas to continue the growth of the sector.
Internationalization is thought in an organic way and with the intention of permeating all levels of the institution. This can be evidenced in its internationalization policy, which brings objectives to be pursued and parameters to be met, such as stimulating international relations and exchange of the student, faculty and administrative body, contributing to the academic, scientific, technological, cultural and personnel of all involved.
The initiative to hold the Internationalization Forum, which is moving towards its third edition this year, has proven to be a successful strategy. We realized that this space allows the communication between several academic segments for the purpose of sharing practices and visualizing successful initiatives amongst all the programs. The 2018 event was attended by representatives of FAUBAI and CAPES, as well as professors of various nationalities, contributing greatly to the creation of an internationalization environment.
We can also highlight the initiatives of education through COIL - Collaborative Online International Learning - that have allowed the co-tutelage of students and classroom sharing between Estácio professors and foreign professors, giving Estácio the opportunity to implement foreign language courses, which we believe is an important differential. This allows a synergy between distinct realities that thus are in contact on a regular basis sharing experiences and reaching mutual academic growth.
Initiatives such as the offering of Free Language Courses for undergraduate students and portuguese for foreigners are already a reality at Estacio. And today there is a movement of creation of disciplines in foreign language in several branches of knowledge to be made available in the curriculum of undergraduate courses.
Thus, we intend not only to share our practices, but also to learn from diverse experiences in this plural space and propeller of internationalization in Brazil.
