The internationalization of the University

The internationalization of the University is "a process of integrating an international/intercultural dimension into the functions of teaching, research and service to the institution. " In 2009 the international relations Area of the Italian University Institute of Rosario-IUNIR was created. It depends directly on the President with one coordinator.
This area of the IUNIR was born thanks to the policy of sustained integration at international level that has been gestating since the creation of the IUNIR in 2001.
Its main objectives are:
1. Continuous work to strengthen the bonds created by the signing of several parthenerships with Universities

2. To promote relations policies for the creation of new links, University networks to integrate and optimize the results of international cooperation. Exchange and mobility of students, professors and university and postgraduate researchers.
3. Help improve the educational quality of IUNIR.

Results:
Agreements: We have already established more than 55 international agreements . Student mobility: In the last ten years, the curricular elective rotations (ROC) of the Italian University Institute of Rosario will have different destinations, both in Argentina and in other European countries. It is thus that a large group of students (n=174) belonging to the last years of the career of medicine and dentistry will be part of their final practices in foreign universities, especially in Belgium, Spain and Italy. The IUNIR also receives annually foreign students (between 10 and 20), from high study houses in Brazil, Belgium, Colombia, Italy and Spain who choose our city and our institute as a destination to experience an internship that guarantees, without Place to doubt, personalized attention, teaching tutoring and diverse assistance approach. (The degree of satisfaction and utilization is 89%, in 81 foreign students )
Qualifications: We have 595 foreign students who are or were enrolled in postgraduate degrees: Doctorate and Master in our institute, coming not only from Mercosur countries (Brazil) but from more distant destinations such as Angola. (The degree of satisfaction and utilization is 86%).
Networks: But not everything is mobility or student enrollment. We were also able to demonstrate that the effective application of agreements and networks that integrates the IUNIR, contributes to improve the educational quality, the mobility of students (degree and postgraduate) and of teachers, integration in research and extension projects, with a High degree of application, satisfaction and utilization for this and other universities.
