Abstract

International cooperation among universities is a challenge for the management of internationalization in several countries, particularly in Brazil in the face of occasional difficulties in international cooperation, especially in the joint development of short-term programs that attract students from English-speaking countries. Many Brazilian universities have difficulty in the management and planning of this type of proposal in the sense that they present good receptivity and acceptability in the university partner of these countries.
The objective of this proposal of oral presentation is to present the experience of this type of joint collaboration promoted by the international offices of three community universities in Brazil, La Salle University - Unilasalle, University of Santa Cruz do Sul - Unisc and Vale do Taquari University - Univates and Concordia University, in Edmond, Canada in a joint colaboration promoting a specific short-term program for undergraduate students over three weeks.
The representatives of the international offices of these universities will have, throughout this oral presentation, the opportunity to share the construction of the joint colaboration project of a specific short-term program for students of an English-speaking university.
The exchange of experiences and the promotion of interculturality among students and teachers are just some of the examples of sucesso of these iniciatives. Among the challenges is the need for full collaboration of the international offices of the partner universities in the preparation of the joint proposal. As an example of difficulties the restrictions of communication in the English language in the Brazilian universities and institutions involved, which often not help the best use of these programs.
The experience of a joint international collaboration between these three community universities in Brazil will allow the managers of the international offices of Brazilian and foreign universities to know the gains, challenges, opportunities and difficulties in the management of this type of joint program in Brasil. The focus of the proposal of these universities was to provide practical and interactive experiences to foreign students in various areas of knowledge, in particular, the experience in social responsibility projects in the respective communities where these universities are inserted.
