AEF – Accademia Europea di Firenze is Florence’s International School of Liberal, Performing Arts and Italian Culture. Located in the heart of the city, it hosts a community of students, professionals, faculty and staff, promoting an unique inspiring environment through our Integrated Experiential Learning.
AEF integrates its courses with our partner institutions courses, where participating students obtain a unified and full understanding of Arts & Italian culture. Through integrated programming, each semester or intensive immersive modules, there is a unifying theme between the courses. For the semester program, the themes are based on Elon University visiting faculty capstone course. For intensive immersive modules, our visiting faculty picks a course that will be given at AEF. The content is the same given at the home institution and what connects the courses are the hands-on examples, illustrations, conversations and field experiences, where students are able to connect everything back to what they learn in class by applying their global learning through a variety of cultural immersion activities.
In today’s interconnected world, encouraging an inclusive global environment is an essential part of life. The Integrated Experiential Learning, will better prepare students to face the real world and give them tools to help them shape the future, by seeing the world with local eyes and learn to respect a new culture.
