Abstract

Cooperation between Portuguese and Brazilian higher education institutions has been a constant during the long term relationships between both countries. Often the question that arises is “How can we cooperate more?”. Apart from the obvious mobility schemes, mainly directed for students, there are some European Programme that can be an alternative in terms of cooperation.
Capacity-building projects are a part of the Erasmus+ Programme. These are transnational cooperation projects that aim at supporting the modernisation, accessibility and internationalisation of higher education in the eligible Partner Countries, as is the case of Brazil.
Since the beginning of the Erasmus+ Programme (2014-2021) Universidade do Minho has been participating in several Capacity Building projects, mainly as a partner.
Being that the European Commission strongly supports that Capacity-building projects should be submitted by Partner Countries Higher Education Institutions, the main aim of this presentation is to share some knowledge and experience that can lead to the submission of new projects for the 2020 Call for Applications.
