In recent years, globalization had led to unprecedented levels of change in all areas, including higher education. With the pace of globalization accelerating and its impact expanding, graduates often end up in organizations that are internationally active. Therefore, universities have to prepare their students not only for increasingly rapidly evolving professional careers, but also for the global society of today and tomorrow. By offering students the opportunity to participate in various international programs and by simultaneously attract international students and staff to their campus, universities encourage their students to become open-minded, global citizens. But the question is, how to organize successful incoming and outgoing student mobility?
Within this session, an experienced staff member of Hasselt University will share good practices on sending students, researchers and staff abroad, and attracting these same target groups internationally, which requires an efficient policy for managing incoming and outgoing mobility.
The session will focus on three topics:
1. Bem-vindo: how to create a welcoming environment for international students?
2. Tchau: how to encourage your students to go abroad and how to prepare them for an international abroad experience?
3. Money, money, money: how to fund mobilities?
