The International Science and Society Congress (CICS) is a biannual event at Centro Universitário Santo Agostinho, held with the collaboration of researchers from several Brazilian educational institutions and other countries. The main purpose of CICS is to bring society closer to contemporary scientific practices. Thus, in addition to providing a space for dialogue and interaction between researchers from various parts of the world, it aims to deepen studies in the most diverse areas of knowledge.
The 1st International Science and Society Congress (1st CICS) was held from October 4th to 7th, 2023, at Centro Universitário Santo Agostinho, in Teresina, Piauí, with the theme: “Human and social development: from ideas to practices”.
CICS brought the challenge of seeking international collaboration in science and technology (S&T), allowing the scientific enterprise to go beyond borders, creating bridges between different scientific communities, thus expanding the possibilities of knowledge production.
