An as alternative to the side effects of traditional platinum-base chemotherapy, palladium complexes with terpyridine ligands have emerged as promising candidates due to their ability to interact with DNA through intercalation. This study presentes the synthesis and characterization of fiive new palladium complexes containing different strutuctural modifications (R = Cl, PPh3, DMF, I, SCN). The structures were successfully elucidated using 1H Nuclear Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR), high resolution mass spectrometry, and infrared (IR) - which confirmed the caracteristic bands of the ligands in the 1650-1400 cm-1 region - and conductivity experiments. Currently, stability studies in solution and in vitro cytotoxicity assays are being conducted to evaluate the integrity of the compounds and determine their actual anticancer potential.
