Abstract

Environmental impacts from textile effluents require effective treatment technologies, with Fenton-like processes emerging as promising alternatives for organic pollutant degradation. This study evaluated a copper(II) bis-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)salicylideneaminato complex as a catalyst for Drimaren Red X-6BN degradation in the presence of H₂O₂ under mild conditions. Results showed enhanced peroxide consumption with increasing catalyst concentration, reaching 80% dye removal under mild conditions, which demonstrates the potential of this system for sustainable wastewater treatment.
