Uracil derivatives have been investigated as potential precursors for the synthesis of compounds with pharmacological applications. Thus, the objective of this work was to synthesize and characterize a new Ag(I) complex with 6-aminouracil (6AU). To this, 0.25 mmol of 6AU and 0.50 mmol of KOH were dissolved in 10 mL of water and stirred for 10 min. Subsequently, 0.50 mmol of AgNO3 dissolved in 10 mL of water was added to the solution, and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1 h. The precipitate formed was filtered, washed with cold water, and placed in a desiccator with P4O10 for drying. The elemental analysis results suggest the following composition for the complex: Ag2C4H3N3O2. The infrared spectrum allows to infer the coordination of 6AU to Ag by N and O atoms. The solid-state ¹³C NMR spectrum shows significant chemical shift changes. DFT study reveals interaction regions on oxygen and nitrogen atoms.
