The family Polygalaceae comprises about 1,300 species and 27 genera worldwide. The genus Polygala is the most representative and widely distributed within this family. Species within this genus are utilized for therapeutic purposes due to their medicinal activities, making them sources of interest for research and development of new drugs. In light of this, the present study aimed to conduct a phytochemical investigation of the species Polygala trichosperma, which occurs in the Bahian semi-arid.
