Abstract

Hybrid lipid polymeric nanoparticles are a nanometric drug delivery system that allows controlled and targeted release of drugs encapsulated in them, increased stability and reduced toxicity. The nanoparticle of green tea extract developed showed significant reduction in neovascularization and no toxicity to retinal pigment epithelia cells, being an attractive alternative for drug delivery in the posterior part of the eye and be used in proliferative diseases of the retina.
