Abstract

The mycorrhizal fungus Waitea circinata, isolated from the Cerrado orchid Epidendrum nocturnum, have been controlled rice blast. However, the identification of compounds by mass spectrometry was hampered by the interference of sugars. To overcome this problem, a method of ionization by spraying paper with a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was devised. This approach also revealed compounds that were identified as squalene, N-(2-hydroxyethyl)nonanamide and N-(2-phenylethyl)hexadecanamide.
