Abstract

Pentyl cinnamate (PC) was synthesized and physical-chemical characterized. Nanoemulsions and Microparticles (MP) containing pentyl cinnamate were developed, characterized and had their stability over 30 days evaluated. Nanoemulsions were obtained (particle size from 158 to 460 nm) and the best system was also the most stable as well as generated the highest MP yield. The PC larvicidal activity (LC50 19.9 µg/mL) was increased in the PC nanoemulsion system that controls the release of the ester.
