Abstract

Pseudovibrio brasiliensis is a new species of marine alpha-proteobacteria found only in healthy sponges. Herein we present a reverse genetics method for this strain and identified the products of a biosynthetic gene cluster (BGC) highly conserved among Pseudovibrio isolates. MS-guided fractionation led the isolation of 12 new ureido-containing peptides encoded by this BGC, named pseudovibriamides.
