Abstract

- Our study integrated biotransformation with classical synthesis for the achievement of chiral intermediates for fragrance production;
- The prochiral acetophenone has been efficiently reduced by an endophytic fungus under stereoselective control;
- The bio reduction parameters have been optimized and resulted into isolation of S-phenylerhanol, which was used in the fragrance synthesis.
