Abstract

• Development and validation of an analytical method for determination of the mycotoxins tryptoquialanines A and C in infected oranges.
• The mycotoxin diffusion among the orange layers were evaluated and the mycotoxin diffusion to the epicarp, mesocarp and endocarp occurs after 4 Days Post Infection stage (DPI).
• Contamination occurrence by mycotoxins between infected and health oranges occurs after an exposure period of 48 hours of direct contact as evaluated by Imaging Mass Spectrometry.
