Abstract

Investigation of the EtOAc extract from the growth medium produced by a soil-derived fungus, Aspergillus sp. SDC28, isolated from a Brazilian cave, yielded three compounds versiconol, versicolorin C and bisdeoxydothistromin. The structures were established by means of NMR and mass spectroscopic data. Both versiconol and versicolorin C were also evaluated for their cytotoxic activity against human ovarian cancer cells (OVCAR3)
