Abstract

The anti-hyperglycemic potential of an infusion from A. triangularis leaves was assessed using in vivo experimental model.
A total of 75 compounds was found in tea, which is a source rich in lignoids, alkaloids, and glycosylated flavonoids.
Freeze-dried infusion of A. triangularis leaves has led to a glycemic reduction comparable to that of glibenclamide.
It was accompanied by accumulation of hepatic glycogen.
In addition, there was a significant decrease in the activity of disaccharidases.
