Abstract

Bioguided phytochemical study of the chloroform:ethyl acetate (1:1) (CEAF) fraction obtained from Palicourea minutiflora resulted in the isolation of three β-carboline alkaloids. The 4-N-oxide-haman showed moderate anticandidal activity. The CEAF fraction exhibited potential antiproliferative effect against breast (MCF-7) and ovarian (OVCAR-3) cell lines and the highest antifungal activity in C. albicans.
