Over the last few years, there has been an incredible increase in reports on two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (2D) materials. The polytype trigonal prismatic of molybdenum disulfide nanosheets (2D-MoS2), termed 2H, has a semiconductor behavior. In contrast, the octahedral polytype (indicated as 1T) is metallic. As a result, we faced a potential candidate for applications such as electrochemistry, energy storage, and nano-additives. Sonicating bulk layered crystals can exfoliate 2D materials in appropriate liquids under specific conditions. Subsequently, the formation of two-dimensional sheets stabilized against aggregation by interactions with the surfactant or polymers. Hence, an exfoliated of layered material dispersion contained sheets of different lengths and thicknesses. The aim here is to discuss the size features of 2D-MoS2, such as the mean nanosheet size (L) and the number of layers per nanosheet (N) obtained by different characterization tools. The 2D-MoS2 was prepared by the liquid exfoliation process in our group. We use here Raman resonant spectroscopy (RR) and optical absorption (OA) techniques and compare them with dynamic light scattering (DLS) data. By RR, we find four to nine layers in the samples analyzed, and the OA technique shows between two to seven layers and (L) of 75 nm. From it, we calculated a hydrodynamic radius of 104 nm.
