The event is organized by the World Education Research Association (WERA) and takes place in conjunction with ANPEd's the 42nd ANPEd National Meeting Meeting at the Education Centre of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), in João Pessoa, Paraíba.

WERA is an international association that brings together the main national and regional research associations in the field of education, including ANPEd. Founded in 2009, WERA will celebrate its 15th anniversary at the Focal Meeting in João Pessoa.

The WERA Focal Meeting is an annual event, held as part of the conference of a WERA member association. In 2025, the partner association will be ANPEd.
